The state BJP leadership announced nominations for its 19 district presidents of the party but withheld such nominations for a few districts including Palamu triggering speculations whether the outgoing presidents will be asked to stay put or there will be newer face to head the party at the district level.
Sources said the state leadership is out doing crisis management as two former CMs Raghubar Das and Babulal Marandi are watching every move with keen interest.
A veteran BJP leader and state BJP general secretary Aditya Sahu said, “Nomination of district president of a few districts put on hold for the moment now will be done very soon.”
Asked as to what he meant by ‘very soon’ - in a day or two or a week or a month Sahu said, “There is no time line in politics. One cannot give any exact timing for it.”
Sources said aspirants here for the post of president are cross fingered.
The present incumbent Narendra Pandey is sanguine of his second innings as president despite a strong and open protest over his name by Bishrampur BJP MLA Ramchandra Chandravanshi, who has publicly vowed to upset Narendra Pandey.
Latehar district has found a new president in its former two-term MLA Haray Krishan Singh, while in Garhwa district the present incumbent Om Prakash Keshri has been retained for the second consecutive term.Sources said former Chief Minister Raghubar Das has been a success to have his fingers in the BJP pies in the organizational set up revamped here recently almost leaving little space for the supporters of Babulal Marandi in the organizational frame of the BJP.
Sources in the BJP here said the rush to be president is enormous here as Palamu has 4 BJP MLAs out of a 5 Assembly seat Palamu district.
