In an initiative to help the pensioners to submit their annual life certificate during the Covid-19 pandemic, the State Government has made a new service functional for them to get the Digital Life Certificates (DLCs) at their doorsteps.
“The ‘doorstep DLC service’ launched by the Indian Post Payment Bank (IPPB) facilitates generation of the DLC by the pensioners/family pensioners from the Jeevan Praman Portal at their doorsteps. The postman having micro ATM can visit the pensioners and obtain the biometric authentication to generate the DLC,” said an office memorandum issued by the Finance Department on Friday.
Earlier, the department had introduced a facility for submission of Aadhaar-based DLCs through the Jeevan Praman portal and, accordingly, the pensioners were allowed to furnish their DLCs through biometric services procured by them or through the cyber cafes, common service centres, GPO, head post office or banks. In view of the pandemic causing inconveniences to the pensioners to physically visit a designated place to furnish biometric impressions for generation of the DLC, the Government has now allowed them to avail the services provided by the IPPB for generation and submission of DLCs.
To avail the doorstep-DLC service through IPPB, the pensioners can request their nearest post offices or make a request through the PostInfo App or through the website
The IPPB will charge Rs 70 from a pensioner for the service.
