Odisha has been a lead performer in the Covid-19 management in the country.
This was revealed at a high-level meeting on public health response tothe Covid-19 held under the chairmanship of Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gouba in which Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy, Health and Family Welfare ACS Pradeepta Kumar Mohapatra and other senior officers ofOdisha participated through video conferencing on Thursday.
It was revealed that the rate of Covid test per million people in the State is 3,029 against all India average of 2,490. One positive caseis found in Odisha out of around 84 sample tests against the national average of one out of 21 tests. The fatality ratio in Odisha, as of now, is 0.42% against the national average of 2.86%.
As on Thursday, a total number of 1,39,311 Covid tests have beencompleted in the State. The State’s recovery rate is around 49 percent against all India average of 42 per cent.
In the recent week, it was recorded that the number of daily recoverywas more than the positive cases found on same day. The wave ofcommunity participation through PRI and SHGs has been anotherachievement of Odisha. TMCs and quarantine centers are being managedat panchayat level through active participation of the Sarpanches,elected representatives, SHGs and other people.
