The police then preserved the cloth that was wrapped on the body besides a few ornaments, including a ring on the body.

Sources said it was all a blind case. The body was unidentified and there was no report in any nearest police station of any woman missing either.

On July 9 a man Santosh Bhuiyan reached Sadar Police Station just to tell the police that his sister Rupwanti is missing and is not at her in-law’s house at Bairya More .

SDPO Sadar, Sandeep Gupta said it was like a God send help as the Sadar police immediately asked him about the feature of the woman that Santosh was describing as missing and then Santosh Bhuiyan was shown cloth and ring which the police had preserved of this woman which Santosh Bhuiyan identified as of his sister called Rupwanti.

Gupta said the case was now open. On the information of Santosh Bhuiyan sadar police nabbed Dev Mangal Bhuiyan and Babita Kumari where Dev Mangal Bhuiyan confessed to his crime of killing Rupwanti as he said this woman used to have domestic fights every day in the house.

Dev Mangal told police that Babita Kumari held Rupwanti’s legs while he pressed her throat till she died.

Dev Mangal and Babita are in relation to Rupwanti.

Gupta said when police discovered the body there was not the least hope of getting her killers but we found them and booked them u.s 302 of IPC. Dev Mangal and Babita were sent to jail today.

Gupta said in another case a man Rajinder Kr Chowdhury as arrested for raping a minor disabled and sick girl while his friend Babulal Chowdhury stood guard when Rajinder was committing this heinous crime. These two have also been sent to jail today.
