Samajwadi Party alleged that political-criminal nexus in Uttar Pradesh had generated a deep sense of insecurity among the people.
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said on Wednesday said that the criminals protected by the ruling party, by organising a spate of attacks on police personnel, were giving a clear message to society that no one can protect them from their firepower
Attacking the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said in a tweet on Wednesday, “UP is witnessing the most macabre period where so far no action has been taken against the dreaded criminals who killed the police personnel, neither against the police officer against whom plethora of evidences are available of his connivance in the crime.”
He said even before the embers of the Bikru incident in Kanpur where eight policemen were killed by the Vikas Dubey gang, the attack on a police outpost in Aligarh and double-murder in Sultanpur had instilled a deep sense of fear among the people.
He said one person was killed by lathis in Kanpur Dehat while one youth was sprayed with bullets in Rampur on Monday evening and the suicide by an executive officer of a nagar panchayat in Ballia district raised many disturbing questions.
The SP chief has launched a barrage of attacks against the UP government ever since the killing of eight policemen, including a deputy superintendent of police, in Kanpur.
