Police officer reverted to line for not wearing mask

Friday, 10 July 2020 | PNS | haridwar

The Piran Kaliyar police station officer was reverted to the police lines by the senior superintendent of police for not following the rules himself. The SSP Senthil Avoodai Krishna Raj S reverted the SO Prakash Pokhriyal to the police line after receiving a number of photos and videos showing the police officer not wearing a mask while in public. The SSP took the decision on Wednesday night while posting Haridwar Kotwali senior sub inspector Jagmohan Ramola to replace Pokhriyal at the Kaliyar police station.

Some social workers of Kaliyar area had sent photos and videos to the SSP showing the SO not wearing a mask in violation of the rules being enforced by the police itself.

It is pertinent to mention here that the State Government has been stressing on mandatory use of masks by all persons in public places to check the spread of Covid-19. The police are also penalising those found not wearing a mask in public places.
