Ahead of assembly bypolls, the political sentiments seem to be running high in Madhya Pradesh.
A BJP leader was on Friday caught in cameras pushing a police officer who was deputed at Ujjain at the arrival of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan there.
As so many people were trying to get close to helipad where Chouhan arrived, former BJP corporator Om Agrawal also tried to approach the helipad but a police officer deployed there in security tried preventing him and the leader pushed him and tried hitting him but other security personnel caught hold of him by then. The two tried to push each other but those around them controlled the situation and separated them.
Former Ujjain development authority ex-Chairman Jagdish Agrawal also was seen siding with his partyman and was arguing with police officer for a while after the incident.
Later Agrawal speaking to the media blamed police-administration for improper arrangements saying those who don’t recognise people listed to meet VIP are deployed at the duty which creates chaos.
At Chhindwara, a Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) bore the brunt of Congress leader’s misbehaviour during a protest on farmers’ issues.
The Congress leaders and workers were staging a protest at Chaurai to highlight plight of farmers who suffered losses during the recent floods. They alleged that CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan planned a visit there thrice but did not come to see farmers’ issues.
As the SDM flanked by police personnel was trying to placate the agitators, one of the Congress leaders –Bunty Patel, smeared the ink on SDM’s face in flash. Patel was carrying ink on his gloves. Police in no time used force and dispersed the mob. Asked to comment on the incident, Congress spokesperson Syyed Jafar criticised the behaviour of the Congress leader but claimed that the anguish on farmers’ plight should also be looked with this incident.
Jafar claimed that Congress workers had raised the farmers’ plight with the administration four-five times recently but administration is doing nothing to help the distressed farmers.
