The Paradip Port Trust’s (PPT) 50-bed Covid Care Centre (CCC) at the Port Club for its employees became functional on Monday.
PPT Chairman Rinkesh Roy assured that the port authorities would leave no stone unturned to fight the pandemic.
Asymptomatic or port employees having mild symptoms would be housed in the CCC and provided with facemasks. Home isolation for mild/asymptomatic cases is recommended if a separate room with toilet is available under the same roof. All the houses in the port township don't have such facilities.
If anybody is legally subjected to home isolation, all other families in the same building might be in dilemma. Hence, mild or asymptomatic people may be in a better condition at the Covid Care Centre. The biomedical wastes would be safely disposed of. All protocols of Covid management would be strictly followed.
