Pvt firm roped in for bio-medical waste collection from quarantined homes

North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NMC) has engaged a private agency authorised by Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) to handle bio-medical waste (BMW) collected from quarantined homes.

The civic body has deployed six closed type auto in all its six zones for transporting the waste to disposal facility of the agency at SSI Industrial area GT Karnal Road for incineration.

The agency started collecting, transport, treat and dispose the BMW from quarantined homes under the jurisdiction of north Corporation areas.

A senior NMC official said that the sanitation staff of NMC is assisting and coordinating with staff of the agency to identify quarantined homes.
