In view of the highest 164 new Covid positive cases detected in the last 24 hours, the Rayagada district administration on Saturday announced a three-day shutdown in the entire district from August 2 to 4.
District Collector Pramod Kumar Behera also announced weekend shutdown in the district till August 16. Besides, he announced closure of the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for 48 hours.
Only essential services would resume and all other activities, including Government offices and plying of vehicles, would remain suspended.
Covid cases in the district are so far 897, including 450 active, out of which 440 have recovered and seven succumbed.
