In a bid to improve the cleanliness system of the State Capital, under its new initiative Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) is going to start calling people about the lifting of garbage from their area. The new initiative will start within 10 days.

RMC City Manager Rupesh informed that the civic body is going to take new initiatives to improve the cleanliness system of the city. Under this it will call 50,000 people in a month and ask whether garbage was picked up from your house, street, locality. Through the phone calls it will also know how many times a week does the employee come to pick up the garbage.

The City Manager further said that there are a total 53 wards in the corporation area. The corporation will call around nine hundred to one thousand people in every ward. On the initiative of the new Municipal Commissioner of the Corporation, Mukesh Kumar, the corporation has now started to restore the new system, he added.

"To start the new initiative in the State Capital, the corporation is going to buy bulk voice call with the IVRS system. It will take 10 days to weeks for the corporation to implement this process. Based on the result of the call, the corporation will work to improve the sanitation system. At present, the corporation monitors cleanliness by calling its supervisor in the wards," said Rupesh.

Explaining about the new initiative, the City Manager said that under the new system, the corporation will ask people through bulk phone calls whether the garbage has been lifted from your locality today. "During this time people will be told that if garbage is raised then press one, if it is not lifted then press two. In this, the people of the locality will tell that there is no lifting of garbage from our locality. Such numbers will be sorted and separated. Then the corporation officials will call on these numbers themselves and take information about the actual situation. After taking all the information, if the negligence of the supervisor or zonal supervisor of that ward comes to light, then action will be taken against such employees," he added.

Rupesh also said that generally RMC resolve 80 percent of garbage related complaints on the same day of complaint, with the new system it will come in touch with those people who avrese to calling the civic body regarding lifting of garbage. RMC Spokesperson Vijendra Kumar said that including this the corporation has decided to install three line toll free phone call systfor instead of existing one line to resolve cases of garbage so that maximum numbers of cases could be resolved.
