The State Rotary CSR Committee along with Rotarians of Puri organised distribution of dry food packets consisting of rice, dal, suji, chuda, sugar, potato, onion, soap, handwash and other items amongst daily wage earners like migrant workers, hawkers, rickshaw pullers, venders, auto drivers, hotel attendants, etc.
These people have been hit hard by Covid19 lockdown with their daily income getting stopped and many of them facing hunger.
So far over 1,000 daily wage earners have been benefitted by the relief distribution over a week of Rotarians, Rotary CSR committee chairman Tapan Kumar Chand said.
The distribution was launched by Rotary Governor Debashis Mishra and Governor elect Soumya Kumar Mishra, besides Chand. Among others, State committee member Jayashree Mohanty, presidents and past presidents of Rotary Club Puri, Rotary Club Jagannath Dham,Rotary Club Puri Shreekhetra, Rotary Club Puri Nilachal and Rotary Club Sagar were present.
