Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of four-lane highway which will be constructed from Gurugram to Rewari via Pataudi, at a cost of about Rs 1,524 crore.

The construction work of this highway is scheduled to be completed by December 2022. This highway is a part of National Highway No-352 which has a length of about 46.11 km.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will construct this highway which will have 99 culvert, 12 small bridges, one underpass for pedestrians and small vehicle, 13 underpasses, two flyovers and one ROB.

NHAI Chairman Sukhbir Singh Sandhu said this 46.11 km length highway from Gurugram-Pataudi-Rewari will cost about 1,524 crore and the Government will paid Rs 2,300 crore for land acquisition.

“During Corona virus pandemic, getting such amount will boost economic activities in this area. The land owners will get the said amount soon,” Sandhu said.

Apart from this, the logistic hub to be constructed in district Mahendragarh will also get the benefit of this highway.

Besides this project, Gurugram MP, Rao Inderjit Singh expressed some demands before the Union Minister.

He said there is a need to construct flyovers on Bilaspur check, Kapadivas check and Bawal check on Delhi-Jaipur National Highway and elevated highway at Manesar.

“Gurugram is an important industrial city and work is underway on the project of elevated highway at IMT Manesar, which will soon be taken up. Gurugram-Pataudi-Rewari highway will prove to be milestones for making Haryana prosperous,” Rao said.

Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, General VK Singh, said this highway to the Rajasthan border via Gurugram-Pataudi-Rewari and will give a new path to development in the area.

Meanwhile, the death toll due to Covid-19 in Gurugram has reached 109 with two more deaths, health officials said on Tuesday.

The district has 7,126 patients and 5,932 of them have recuperated from their illness. Gurugram now has 1,085 active cases and 851 of them are in home isolation, officials said.
