PCC president Niranjan Patnaik has stated that the Rs 17,000-crore package announced by the State Government to provide livelihoods to people affected by Covid lockdown is meant to hoodwink them.
Patnaik asked the Government to make public the source of getting the huge amount of the package fund. He described the livelihood package as unrealistic and sought to know whether Ministers or bureaucrats are running the Government.
He alleged that the Government has completely failed in supporting migrant workers.
He demanded a special session of the Assembly convened immediately to discuss the state of economy and the growing unemployment crisis.
Patnaik also blamed the Centre for death of migrants. “The way the lockdown was declared by the Union Government put migrants in sheer trouble,” he said.
