Soumya Ranjan Mishra has taken over as Governor of 3262 district for the 2020-21 Rotary year.
Outgoing Governor Debashis Mishra handed over the responsibility to him. During the new governor’s tenure, extensive tree planting would be carried out to protect ecological balance; and re-schooling of school dropouts is also among his plans.
Soumya R Mishra also said a comprehensive programme would be undertaken to prevent the pandemic in the State.
He and his first wife Sarita Mishra have returned from a formal training course in Santiago, USA with an aim of making the Rotary service more meaningful. He has provided grant of Rs 50 lakh for the ‘Little Hope’ programme sponsored by the Rotary India to make students face the school.
Rotarians Shivabrata Das and Ravi Nanda also spoke on the occasion. PP Prashant Mohapatra, general secretary Mrinal Nayak, Prasanna Lenka, Media Cell chairman Bibhuti Bhusan Kar and Rotarian Tapan Panigrahi were present.
