SDMC Mayor gives Rs 10 L to family of Covid warrior

South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) Mayor Anamika on Wednesday handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lakh to the family of two of its workers who died due to Covid-19 while on duty.

“SDMC has provided the financial aid of Rs 10 lakh as compensation to the families of deceased Corona warriors Selva Raj (contractual beldar) and Mahinder Singh( Safai Sainik),” the mayor said.

Anamika further said that a permanent job will also be provided to one of their family members. “Both of them contracted the virus and lost their life while on duty. They were deployed in the South Zone.
