Security forces recover huge cache of arms, ammunition

Thursday, 13 August 2020 | PNS | DALTONGANJ

Jharkhand Jaguar (JJ) and Palamu police made a big haul of arms and ammunition of TSPC extremist outfit today between the two hills, one laying each on Palamu side and the other on Chatra side.

JJ's three assault teams numbering 11, 29 and 40 carried this job today.

The recovered arms and ammunition included one insas rifle, one 9 mm CMG, one Springfield American rifle, one country made pistol, 7 magazines, 334 rounds of live fire, eight cell phones, one solar plate, three pairs of shoes, ten bags, two aadhar cards and one notebook.

The contingent of TSPC was led by its zonal commander Shashikant alias Aarif. Aarif and his men escaped leaving behind these arms and ammunition, said SP Palamu Ajay Linda.

Linda said JJ and police carried out a search operation as there was a tip off about Aarif and his men there in between the two pahars Kedaal ( Palamu) and Bhainsamar ( Chatra) for extracting levy from some contractor which our JJ and police aborted like anything and dented TSPC severely.

Linda said there was a short time exchange of fire between JJ & Palamu police and TSPC extremists.

Although the place of occurrence falls under Manatu police station this Manatu police station was not engaged in the search against extremists. There is no comment as to why Manatu police station was kept out of the loop of the search against TSPC today.

Linda just said “Our forces did a very good job. Just a few days ahead of Independence Day this successful denting and jerking to TSPC by us will make CPI Maoists also scared of our readiness to take them on as well.”
