Shops to open with riders from today

Raipur, Durg and Bilaspur districts will go for unlocking from August 7 but with some conditions including that shops will open for eight hours for six days a week. All shops will remain shut on Sunday.

The traders have accepted the latest official orders and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

Earlier, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel stated that District Collectors have been authorized to take decisions related to the lockdown.

They will consider the prevailing conditions of Covid-19 pandemic, its spread and number of patients. A decision will be taken after holding talks with local traders and business community.

“Prevention is the best to keep away the coronavirus. Every citizen has to ensure physical distancing, wear mask and wash hands at regular interval strictly. Unnecessary visits to public places should be avoided,” Baghel said in a statement.

Raipur, Durg and Bilaspur district administrations have issued the SOP and timings to open the shops.

Raipur District Collector Dr S Bharati Dasan along with Raipur Superintendent of Police Ajay Yadav and Durg Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhurre and Superintendent of Police Prashant Thakur held talks with traders on unlocking.

The order speaks of five   different shifts to operate shops. The provision and retail shops will remain open from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm while fruit, vegetables and milk shops will be open from 6.00 am to 12.00 noon.

Hotels and restaurants have been permitted to open from 10.00 am to 9.00 pm and home delivery can take place till 10.00 pm.

All other shops mainly dealing with clothes, shoes, hardware and utensils will function between 11.00 am and 7.00 pm.

Two shifts have been        permitted for street food        vendors -- from 6.00 am to 9.00 am and 5.00 pm to 8.00 pm.

Shopkeepers have to keep 50 masks so that if any customer arrives without a mask, he has to be given one.

The shops will be sealed for a fortnight if the orders are     violated. The timing will be reviewed after 15 days.

In Durg, vegetable, dairy, mutton, fish can be sold from 5.00 am to 12.00 noon. The   general provision stores and all other shops can open from 11.00 am to 7.00 pm. Restaurants and hotels can provide dining from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm whereas home delivery can take place between 8.00 pm and 10.00 pm.

Street vending is allowed from 6.00 am to 9.00 am and from 5.00 pm to 8.00 pm. The order will be effective till August 31. The shops violating the order will be sealed.

Similar order has been issued by the Bilaspur District Collector.
