All hurdles have been cleared to run a Shramik special train from Bihar to bring back those stranded there to Chhattisgarh. The train will ply on May 24 and boarding will take place in Darbhanga, Danapur and Buxar.
The announcement was made on Friday by the Nodal officer for bringing back migrant labourers from other states to Chhattisgarh, Sonmani Borah.
He said the hindrances on running the train from Bihar to Chhattisgarh were resolved on Friday.
“After continuously chasing all issues with Bihar government and Indian Railways, just got permission to run the much awaited Shramik special train from Darbhanga to Chhattisgarh for migrant labourers”, he tweeted.
Also, a Shramik special from Uttarakhand’s capital Dehradun will arrive in Raipur on Saturday, he said. Passengers will board the train in Dehradun and Haridwar.
Around 2.5 lakh migrant labourers, tourists, students, businessmen and others from Chhattisgarh were stranded in other states since the lockdown was declared to battle Covid-19. Of this, some 1.10 lakh have reached the state till Wednesday.
