Chhattisgarh Health Minister T.S. Singh Deo on Friday requested people to strictly follow the Covid guidelines in this festive season.

In a video message while extending advance greetings for various festivals ahead, he requested the residents of the state to follow the protocols of the Health Department for protecting themselves from Covid infection.

“Currently every day between 2,600 and 2,800 fresh Covid cases are being reported across the state. This means, Covid-19 is not defeated yet,” he said.

“Ahead of Navratri, Diwali and other festivals, I request you all to maintain social distancing and wear masks. Do not venture out of the house without a mask under any circumstance,” he said.

He asked the public to support the government in the fight against Covid-19.

By October 15, over 1.53 lakh people were infected by coronavirus in Chhattisgarh. There are 28,187 active cases and the virus has claimed 1,385 lives in the state.
