Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel wants to simplify the development process of residential colonies.
A ‘Single Window System CG Aawas’ has been developed by the Housing and Environment Department to accelerate the approval process for residential colonies. This will complete the entire approval process within 100 days.
In case the colonizer-applicant has not submitted the integrated records of the land plot owned by him/her, an additional time limit of 40 days will be given to submit the land records.
Under CG Awas, no department will accept applications related to permits for residential colonies in offices from May 21, 2020.
From now on, applications can be submitted to the departments only through ‘CG Aawas’ system.
Under this process, an applicant will not have to run from pillar to post in any government office.
Earlier, the process of obtaining permit to develop a residential colony used to take one-and-a-half to two years. Now applicants will get the residential colony development permit within 100 days.
All work related to issuing land diversion certificates, approved layouts and colony development permit will be done through a single window system.
The applicant will be provided updates regarding the application submitted through the portal and SMS. This system will ensure accountability of the officials.
The single window system will make the entire process more transparent besides saving the applicants' time.
Earlier, a committee was set up to study the current system and to recommend changes to make it into more efficient.
The Chhattisgarh government has appointed an Additional District Magistrate in every district to properly implement the single-window system. The final approval will be given by the SDM. The District Collectors will review the applications every week.
