Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sirmaur MLA Divyaraj Singh has been on Monday tested positive for covid19.
The legislator, son of Rewa royal scion Pushpraj Singh, had come in contact with senior party MLA from Javad Om Prakash Saklecha who was tested positive for the deadly virus on June 20, a day after Rajya Sabha polls in Madhya Pradesh.
Thereafter, the MLAs who came in contact with him had become anxious and several of them had got themselves tested for covid19. The MLA from Rewa Divyaraj Singh who resides inside the Rewa fort premises had put himself in self quarantine from June 20 when Saklecha had reported infection.
The BJP MLAs had gathered in Bhopal ahead of June 19 RS polls.
The Rewa MLA was sitting close to the senior partyman Saklecha who was later reported infectious, during the RS polls. After returning to his native town, the young MLA put himself in quarantine and tested for covid19. His residence has been declared containment zone after he tested positive for the virus.
Due to a lord Shiva idol installed in the fort, large numbers of local reached the fort to seek blessings.
The MLA meanwhile has also released his videos and pictures of the exercise sessions.
Besides, these couple of BJP MLAs who have tested positive for covid19, Rajya Sabha candidate Jyotiraditya Scindia was tested positive for the virus days ahead of the polls. Scindia however has recuperated from the infection and handed Rs 30 lakh cheque to be used in the fight against Novel CoronaVirus on Monday.
Earlier Congress MLA Kunal Chaudhary was tested positive for covid19 and had taken part in RS polls putting on PPE kit, a move which had drawn criticism from various quarters.
