Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav said that if his party was voted to power in the 2022 UP Assembly polls, his government would ensure the welfare of farmers, artisans and people engaged in other professions in rural areas.
Akhilesh Yadav also flayed the Yogi Adityanath government for the deterioration in law and order and the corruption rampant in the administration.
“Even the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are not safe in UP and criminals, under the patronage of the ruling party leaders, are indulging in anti-social and illegal activities with impunity. A woman BJP leader has lodged an FIR in Aligarh district and she has faced strong opposition from fellow partymen who mobbed her in the police station while the residence of a BJP leader has been attacked and his property has been damaged,” the SP president said.
“The situation due to corruption in administration is so grave that a sub-divisional magistrate in Pratapgarh district had to sit on dharna against the district magistrate in the office chamber of the DM,” he added.
Dismissing the BJP government’s claim of good governance, the SP chief said the subordinate staff in police and civil administration are levelling charges of corruption against their superior officers.
He said, “A former DGP has exposed the corruption while serious charges of extortion of over Rs 35 lakh per month from the common people and business establishments have been made against the police in Chandauli district.”
Yadav said people from all walks of life were fed up with the BJP government and the next SP government would ensure justice to the people of all sections of society and livelihood and employment for the poor.
He said only the path shown by socialist leaders Ram Manohar Lohia and Mulayam Singh Yadav could uplift the poor and disadvantaged sections of society.
