Striking personnel of MGNREGA are up to prank. Sources said some of them are reluctant to give passwords. Some have sat tight with the documents of MGNREGA schemes.

Sources said these tricks of personnel on strike of MGNREGA are in the knowledge of the district administration. The MGNREGA personnel are on indefinite strike since July 27.

There are more than 215 MGNREGA personnel in Palamu district which includes block programme officers, rozgar sewaks, computer operators, junior engineers, assistant engineers etc. DC Palamu Shashi Ranjan said, “The administration is aware of the mischief of the unscrupulous personnel of the MGNREGA who are not giving the passwords as a result loading of details is getting difficult.” Ranjan said, “It is still time for such errant strikers to mend their ways as depriving anyone from making job demands in time like this pandemic is simply inhuman and intolerable.”

Muster Roll is generated on job demands by unskilled labourers and here pass word is most essential for creating Muster Roll said sources.

Ranjan said as of now 5,000 beneficiaries who have been given sanction for building their houses under PM Awas Yojna Gramin can do a total of 95 days of work each under MGNREGA at 194 rupees per Manday.

Ranjan said this slot of 95 days under MGNREGA is to be done during the course of construction of their houses and not thereafter as then there lies a scope of wage leakages.

Sources said for 95 days work under MGNREG the wages at  Rs 194 comes to Rs 18,430 per beneficiary which at this time is no mean money.

The DC said, “I have discovered that BDOs are not very particular about beneficiaries doing and completing 95 Mandays under MGNREGA on their upcoming houses under PM Awas Yojna Gramin but on completion of houses when occupancy or living in is to start the claim for wages for 95 Mandays is made and this is most suspicious, which I do not want any of my BDOs to fall in the line of it.”
