Surat returnee dies in home quarantine

 A Surat returnee of Tarsole village in the Betnoti area of Mayurbhanj district died while being under home quarantine on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Paresh Chandra Mohanta of Tarasole village in Betnoti area of the district.

According to information, Mohanta was put under seven days institutional quarantine at the Betnoti-based Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya quarantine centre after his arrival the State from Surat. Later, he was allowed by the authorities to remain on home quarantine.

However, he breathed his last at his residence in the morning, after three days of home quarantine. But the cause of his death was yet to be ascertained.

However, Mohanta’s wife lodged a complaint with the Betnoti police urging them to probe into the matter and take steps towards ascertaining the reason behind her husband’s death.
