Lok Shakti Abhiyan president Prafulla Samantara has slammed the State Government for reported Covid mismanagement and urged it to take all measures to provide best treatment to both Covid and non-Covid patients in hospitals.
In a letter to Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy on Wednesday, Samantara appreciated the Government’s quick response to the migrant workers issue and management of quarantine centers in villages at an earlier stage of lockdown period.
However, citing media reports, he expressed unhappiness over reported flaws, negligence and mismanagement in dealing with Covid patients and the Covid Care Centres in Ganjam and other places.
“There are different kinds of problems patients are facing now. Though there is no prescribed medicine for Covid 19, but essential treatment is necessary to prevent the disease from getting aggravated. There are Covid centres which are lacking basic sanitary needs. Dearth of doctors has added to woes of patients. Many patients are left in beds only to wait and watch what to happen,” rued Samantara.
He too alleged that non-Covid patients are not getting proper care in Government hospitals now. He urged the Chief Secretary to take necessary steps to provide proper treatment and care to both Covid and non-Covid patients.
