Tendu leave collectors in Sukma, Dantewada, Bijapur to get cash

Tuesday, 30 June 2020 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

The Chhattisgarh government is going to make cash payments to Tendu leaves collectors in the Maoist insurgency hit Sukma, Dantewada and Bijapur forest divisions, officials said on Monday.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has given the necessary permission in response to a letter written by Commerce and Industry Minister Kawasi Lakhma, an official statement said.

The Industry Minister said in a letter to Baghel that public representatives from these three regions have demanded release of payment to Tendupatta leave      collectors.

“In these three  districts, there is      provision for payment through bank cheques only. However, several people do not have Aadhar, PAN card or bank accounts which causes unnecessary trouble. These are    sensitive regions where the distance between banks and interior    villages in some cases is about 70 to 80 km,” Lakhma said in the  letter.
