Two deaths due to Covid-19 were reported in Raipur as the total number of positive cases in Chhattisgarh exceeded the 9,000 mark on Friday.
Also on Friday, the 309 Covid patients discharged from hospitals across the state surpassed the 230 fresh patients, officials said.
A 44-year-old resident of Idgahbhata locality in Raipur was admitted at AIIMS Raipur on July 22 with breathing trouble. He had acute pneumonia and tested Covid positive. The man suffered acute renal failure and died on Friday, the officials said.
A 59-year-old man from Ristiguda, Gariaband district, was admitted in a Raipur based private hospital on Thursday with fever and breathing trouble. He had liver and kidney problems. He tested Covid positive and died due to multi organ failure.
With these two deaths, so far 53 individuals have lost their lives due to Covid in state.
Of the 230 patients found on Friday, Raipur reported 132, Kondagaon 23, Durg 19, Rajnandgaon 17, Mahasamund 9, Korba 6, Balrampur, Bastar and Balodabazar 4 each, Bilaspur 3, Janjgir 2 and Dantewada, Jashpur, Surajpur, Surguja, Gariaband, Kanker 1 each. A migrant labourer also tested Covid positive.
