Two policemen have been suspended for violating the Covid-19 quarantine protocol in Chhattisgarh's Kawardha district, police said on Tuesday.
“Two policemen were suspended after they were found disobeying the quarantine protocol,” Kawardha Superintendent of Police K.L. Dhruv said.
According to the police, the in-charge of Podi police outpost and a head constable posted there gave their samples for Covid testing on August 6. However, instead of getting themselves quarantined, they freely roamed around.
Kawardha's Additional Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar Soni said the two policemen also attended a ‘Spandan’ programme held on Tuesday in which several policemen took part.
'Spandan' is a special programme launched by Chhattisgarh Police to stop suicidal tendencies among policemen.
“Both the policemen tested Covid positive after the programme. They have put others also on risk and were therefore suspended,” Soni said.
