UP bags 8  GKRA awards

The Uttar Pradesh government has another feather in its cap as it has received eight awards in the Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan (GKRA)  launched by the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti .     

According to official sources here, Uttar Pradesh has got overall first position in the country while among the districts, Prayagraj, Hardoi and Fatehpur have bagged the first, second and third ranks, respectively.

In the non-GKRA category, Bareilly and Aligarh have secured first and second positions  respectively. Aligarh has also received the special recognition award.    

Besides, Uttar Pradesh has also got overall second rank in the implementation of Gandagi Mukt Bharat scheme. 

The awards will be distributed at an online ceremony on October 2, 2020.               

The Government of India launched the Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan to tackle the impact of COVID-19 on labourers/workers in India. It is a rural public works scheme which was launched on June 2, with an initial funding of Rs 50,000 crore.
