UP issues fresh guidelines for air travellers

Monday, 25 May 2020 | PNS | Lucknow

The Uttar Pradesh government has issued an advisory for air flyers who will be arriving at the airports in the state from Monday when domestic flights commence after over 60 days of lockdown.
The passengers who belong to UP will have to go for 14-day home quarantine if there are no health issues while other passengers visiting the state for a short period of less than a week will get relaxation from quarantine but will not be allowed to visit containment or hotspot areas and will have to show the return ticket.
Earlier, the government had said that travellers who were native of the state would have to go for a week-long home quarantine while outsiders visiting the state would have to show their return ticket otherwise they too would have to go for quarantine for a week.
Officials clarified that if a passenger goes for a COVID-19 test after six days of quarantine and tests negative, the rest of his or her quarantine period would be waived.
All air passengers will have to register themselves on web link ‘reg.upcovid.in’ after reaching the airports in the state and after filling in their details they will be allowed to come out of the airport, says the order issued by Chief Secretary RK Tiwari on Sunday.
The order, which was also sent to all districts, directs district magistrates to ensure home quarantine of air passengers and directs nigrani samitis to monitor the activities of these people.
The air passenger who has no accommodation for home quarantine will be shifted to institutional quarantine run by the government.
Around 27 flights have been allowed at the Chaudhury Charan Singh International Airport  in Lucknow, including nine from Delhi, five from Ahmedabad, six from Mumbai and  two each from Kolkata and Hyderabad.
