Indicating that Uttar Pradesh would follow the guidelines of the Union government in Unlock 2.0, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asked officials to study the guidelines thoroughly before implementing them.

“Allow activities during Unlock 2.0 as per Central guidelines. These provisions should be studied thoroughly before implementing them,” Yogi said while chairing the Unlock review meeting at his official residence in Lucknow on Tuesday.

Reminding everyone that prevention was the only cure of COVID-19, Yogi said that precautions were imperative to break the infection chain and advised people to refrain from venturing out unnecessarily.

Directing officials to carry out publicity campaign for creating public awareness, Yogi said that campaigns should be run through radio, television, banners, posters and handbills.

“Continue to ramp up Covid testing and ensure infra-red thermometers and pulse oximeters at Covid help desks while the staff deputed there should be provided masks, gloves and sanitiser,” the chief minister said.

Yogi also directed officials to communicate with the kin of COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment at hospitals and update them about their conditions.

“Pay special focus on sanitation in holding areas of hospitals and maintain adequate number of stretchers and wheelchairs there,” he said.

The chief minister further said that infectious disease control drive would start from July1 for which cleanliness campaign be launched as it played a stellar role in preventing spread of infectious diseases, including COVID-19.

“During the drive, focus should be on using face cover or masks and ensuring social distancing,” he said.

Yogi also directed officials to ensure availability of hay and green fodder in cow-shelters and also asked them to ensure extensive spraying of chemicals to prevent farms from locusts.

“In order to scoop up more revenue, tender process for mining should be started so that mining can start from October 1,” he said.
