With the Punjab Government recently deciding not to affix the posters at the entrance of homes of Covid-19 patients in home isolation, the infected patients in Chandigarh have also put up the same request with the UT Administration.
The senior officers of UT Administration have been receiving calls from representatives from various sectors to do away with putting up posters outside the houses of COVID patients under home isolation or quarantine to reduce the stigma surrounding the infected patients. The total case tally stood at 8592 in the city as on Tuesday. There were 2991 active cases in Chandigarh and more than 1000 patients were in home isolation.
“As Punjab Government had recently announced to rescind the decision of putting posters outside the houses of COVID patients, we have also been receiving calls from people in Chandigarh to follow suit,” said Manoj Parida, Adviser to UT Administrator while talking to The Pioneer.
