Waning popularity of CM, Cong diverting issue: BJP

Wednesday, 12 August 2020 | PNS

Chhattisgarh BJP President Vishnudeo Sai said the allegations against Dr Raman Singh were being raised by the Congress to divert the 20 months of governance failure and the waning popularity of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.

He was reacting to the allegations raised by Congress leaders against the former Chief Minister.

Sai said that Congress leaders should ask their own Chief Minister why he still fears the popularity of the former Chief Minister and why he (Baghel) had become so unpopular so soon.

The BJP leader said when the Gandhi family does not do any work, how does it hold such large assets. Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik said in a statement that if there is evidence, then why is the state government not taking action against Dr Raman Singh and his family. He accused the Congress of     raising baseless allegations as part of its strategy of character assassination.
