Will rejoin politics if gets a chance: Dilip

Sunday, 29 November 2020 | AUROBINDA DAS | ROURKELA

Rourkela has been and will always be close to my heart. My relationship with my city and district transcends the narrow boundary of politics,” said Dilip Ray on his arrival at Rourkela after a long span.

He further said that all-around development of the place that had given him such love and affection was something that he still attached the highest value, regardless of any elected/official position. He said he would continue to contribute his bit towards the development of the city in every possible way.

Replying to a question “Where is Dilip Ray”, he said the same question was raised by his opponents during 2014 election while he participated in direct election process after a gap of 19 years. That time the love and affection of Rourkela people had given them a befitting reply when he won the election in a wide margin, said Ray.

“Now certain elements with vested interest have started the propaganda once again. But I would continue to remain emotionally attached with Rourkela,” asserted Ray.

He further maintained that he always monitored the development of three projects like the second Brahmani Bridge, the IGH super specialty hospital and the regular flight connectivity to Rourkela, no matter where ever he stayed. Though it is late but certain developments are made in all three projects, he asserted.

He hoped that by 2021 the super specialty hospital would be operational and the bridge would be functional. The works are also undertaken for regular commercial flight to Rourkela, he told.

Regarding the case against him on coal scam he said he had all faith on the judiciary system and more on the divine justice. “I have never cheated anybody in my personal, business and political life. Rather I have always maintained loyalty,” Ray averred.

Regarding his rejoining in active politics, Ray said, “If I get a chance, I will consider.”
