A woman Naxalite was killed in a gun battle with security forces in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, police said on Thursday.
The fighting occurred on Wednesday in a forest between Duled and Minpa villages in the Chintalnar police station area where a joint team of security forces was out on an anti-Naxalite operation, Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundarraj P said. In a search after the gunfight the team found the body of the woman Maoist, a .303 rifle, a huge cache of explosive materials and items of daily use, he said. The identity of the dead woman was yet to be ascertained, he added.
