Yogi’s directive to further strengthen health services

Underlining the importance of testing in COVID-19 control, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the testings should continue and there should be sufficient backup of testing kits in hospitals, medical colleges and medical institutes.
Presiding over the Unlock review meeting at Lok Bhawan here on Tuesday, the chief minister directed Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad to further strengthen the health services at the district hospitals, community health centres and primary health centres.
He also asked Additional Chief Secretary (Medical Education) Rajneesh Dube to strengthen the services in the medical colleges and medical institutes.
The chief minister asked officials to pay extra attention on Lucknow, Meerut, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Saharanpur and Muzaffarnagar. He said that the treatment facilities in these districts should be strengthened and contact tracing should be expedited.
He also directed officials to ensure availability of oxygen in all hospitals and medical colleges.
“Oxygen should be available at the prescribed rate. Guard against its black-marketing,” he said and added that the chief secretary’s office should maintain a dialogue with the district administrations to monitor treatment and other health services.
Laying emphasis on protection and safety from COVID-19, the chief minister said that various modes of communication should be used to create mass awareness in this regard.
He said the Transport, Health and Police departments should work in tandem to spread message about traffic safety and COVID-19 prevention through public address system at crossings and markets. He also asked officials to run Covid help desks actively.
The chief minister directed officials to complete preparations for the purchase of paddy at minimum support price (MSP). He also asked them to ensure social distancing at purchase centres.
The chief minister also asked officials to improve arrangements in cow shelter in Bijnor district.
He further asked officials to minimise the loss of human lives from lightning by strengthening the alert system. He directed all officials to provide financial assistance in case of loss of human lives in natural disaster as per the government sanction.
