Young faces make it to BJP’s State committee

Monday, 06 July 2020 | Roshan Kumar | Ranchi

The State BJP president Deepak Prakash’s new committee figures young, energetic and educated faces.

The State BJP new committee, which was given shape on Friday, figures persons who are new in organisation but their talent and dedication for party has compelled Prakash to induct them in his new team.

Twenty five-year-old Rahul Awasthi, pursuing Master of Computer Applications (MCA) from Ranchi University, is the youngest member in Prakash’s team. He has been made the State BJP social media co in-charge. Awasthi, before being elevated in State BJP team was in Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) — the youth wing of BJP. In BJYM too Awasthi was looking after social media.

Awasthi, who has done his graduation from St Xavier’s College Ranchi said, “I am in BJP since my college days. When BJYM president Anurag Thakur was strengthening party by inducting new and young faces in BJYM. I too was influenced by BJP’s nationalist ideals.”

From civic body to general election to state assembly election, BJP’s social media plays an important role and Awasthi as an IT expert had played an active role in social media.

When lockdown was imposed to check coronavirus infection, BJP and its various organizations took up the drive to reconnect with masses through social media. Plans were made to reconnect with virtual rallies addressed by senior BJP leaders.

In Jharkhand, Rahul Awasthi prepared a virtual rally platform using IT and social media and organised a large number of virtual rallies in Jharkhand. His hard work and dedication was noticed by senior leaders and thus he was given the new task.

Like Rahul Awasthi, Amit Kumar a young leader with BJYM background has been elevated in State team. Amit Kumar has found place in list of spokespersons. The BJP state spokesperson list includes names of seven persons.

Amit Kumar said, “I am thankful to party which has given me such a big responsibility. During Covid-19 crisis and lockdown the job of spokesperson becomes important as it is spokesperson who reaches out to people highlighting party’s work and at the same time the loopholes of State Government.”

Amit Kumar a graduate in Economics has been in BJYM since 1998 and during his 15 year stint as BJYM member had held various positions.

The BJP list also includes 28-year-old Misfika Hasan the lone Muslim and woman face in spokesperson list. Misfika is highly educated and comes from Santhal Pargana region. Coming from a very decent academic background, Misfika did her matriculation from Delhi Public School in Farakka, West Bengal.

Later she shifted to Ranchi to complete her graduation in Bio-Technology. Then she got an admission in Delhi-based Jamia Millia Islamia from where, she completed her Post Graduation in Bio-Technology.

BJP State president and newly elected Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash on Friday constituted its new team by making vital changes in the organisation.

BJP sources said most of the office bearers in former Chief Minister Raghubar Das and former State president Laxman Gilua have been replaced.
