The Shyamla Hills police station in Bhopal went into a tizzy on Tuesday after the covid 19 test report of the youth who was arrested for throwing a stray dog into the lake, was received as positive.
The youth, Mohd Salman was tested for covdi 19 as part of medical examination before the police produced him in the court on Monday and after his test report was received on Tuesday, the panicked police station got all the personnel tested for the virus.
Total 18 policemen including the Thana in Charge was tested for the virus and one of them was tested positive for the infection. The policemen also got their vehicles sanitised to counter the infection.
Shyamla Hills SHO Tarun Bhati speaking to the media confirmed that the youth in police custody was tested positive for covid19 on Tuesday.
On Sepember 10, accompanied by his friends, Salman had thrown a stray dog into the Upper Lake for shooting a video meant for social media. After massive social media uproar, the police nabbed him on Monday from Hanumanganj area in Old city and he was booked under section 429 of IPC and section 11 of Cruelty to Animals Act.
Animal lovers had complained to police and district collector over the viral video. The youth who works as an amateur photographer had sought forgiveness by holding his ears after he was arrested by police on Monday.
