An 18-year-old youth was attacked by a miscreant with a sharp-edged weapon at Tulsi Nagar when he opposed abusing of his friend in the afternoon on Thursday. TT Nagar police has started investigation.
According to the police, Akash Thapa was on his way to home when he spotted his friend, Ravindra, being abused by a man and when he opposed , the accused attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon and escaped from the spot.
A complaint was lodged with the TT Nagar police stating that after he spotted his friend, Ravindra, being abused, he opposed which angered the accused identified as Sujan Pardi who attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon in his stomach. The victims raised an alert on which the locals rushed to their rescue but the attacker managed to flee.
The victim was rushed to Hamidia hospital, where
his condition is reportedly critical. The accused is still absconding. After the preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case under section 307 of the IPC and have launched a manhunt to nab the miscreant. The police have not traced details of the accused and were not able to provide any criminal record.
The victim is a resident of Jehangirbad. At the time when he was taken to hospital he went unconscious and later his statements were not recorded but before he went unconscious he revealed the incident.
In the attack, Ravindra escaped unhurt as he was not attacked by the accused. Police have intensified the search for the accused.
