Youth slays neighbour’s  pigeons to avenge insult

Wednesday, 30 September 2020 | PNS | Lucknow

Irked at being scolded by a neighbour for spitting in front of his house, a youth killed 11 pigeons of the neighbour in Baghpat on Monday.

The police later registered a case and were making efforts to arrest the accused.

As per reports, Rahul Singh had the bad habit of spitting outside his neighbour Dharampal Singh’s house. Dharampal admonished Rahul on this score and reminded that spitting was prohibited in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

To avenge the ‘insult’, Rahul climbed onto the roof of his neighbour’s house and bludgeoned 11 pigeons kept in a cage on Monday evening. Upon learning of the incident, Dharampal made a video of the dead pigeons and lodged an FIR against Rahul, who is on the lam.

Circle Officer of Baghpat, Ompal Singh said, “We have filed an FIR under relevant provisions of Wildlife Protection Act and teams are tracing Rahul to arrest him.”
