Late 2001, I entered the room of an astrologer friend. Finding him busy reading the astrological chart of somebody visiting him, I said sorry and then turned back. He stopped me from leaving and asked me for my opinion on the critical chart instead. The word critical somehow got registered firmly in my mind. So, my first attention was on looking at the criticality of the chart. After having a good look, I observed: “The person appears to be going through an unprecedented situation in life. I will not be surprised if he is faced with a criminal case of serious consequences. There seems to be a role of a woman in the whole episode, possibly his wife, who seems to have tacit support of his mother. Is somebody behind bars, I asked?”
The person who had come to seek guidance seemed baffled with such a quick observation. He looked curiously towards my astrologer friend, as if asking him whether he had shared the details with me. The astrologer friend instantly pointed out that no information had been shared. It appeared that the person could not believe his observation. He asked me: “What is the basis of your observation?”
Well, it is very simple. Saturn the lagna sub-lord, representing the person concerned, is in the 5th house identified with love life. Saturn is opposite the Sun identified with government agencies as well as Venus, the planet reflecting a female and carnal desires. Cusp-wise Venus is in the 10th house identified with his profession, meaning that she would be someone associated with his works. Sun, incidentally is the 12th lord posited in the friend signifying 11th house. 12th being 8th from 5th implies that he would be put through an unprecedented situation because of some unforeseen happening to his girl-friend. Neptune in the 2nd house identified with family, is placed adverse to Saturn, Sun, mind signifying Moon and Venus. The obvious implication is that the girl’s presence in his life was an embarrassment to his family members. Saturn aspects Jupiter, the 4th and 7th lord, respectively signifying the mother and wife, and which is placed adverse to Rahu and Mars. All put together makes him vulnerable to be confronted with unforeseen circumstances, difficult to withstand, when time becomes adverse. The possibility of his wife and even his mother being involved in the process was there.
Let us now look at the transit. Saturn has moved to the 9th house, where from it extends its friendly aspect to the Sun and Venus. Remember, if planets are placed adverse to each other in the birth chart, whenever they become supportive to each other during transit, they join hands to create mischief. Incidentally, Mars in transit is passing through the 3rd house, opposite transit Saturn, its dire enemy, thus, creating ground for some criminal offence.
In the dasha chakra, he was running Mars dasha and Rahu antardasha. Mars being lord of 3rd house (one’s own initiatives and dealings) and 8th house (great difficulties) remains the most disadvantageous planet for the Virgo born native. Mars is in the 12th house in his birth chart. It points to loss of reputation and unforeseen expenses, as well as serious difficulty to his love life, if any in existence. Mars is placed adverse to Rahu in the birth chart. Rahu occupies the constellation owned by Jupiter in the 7th house, which again is opposite Mars. It implies that the partner’s fire will get so much enraged that she may lose sense of reasons and direction. So, Mars — Rahu period had to put him through challenging situation. In progression chart, the lagna had touched Neptune of the birth chart, which was placed adverse to Venus which made him susceptible to be faced with unforeseen circumstances.
The person concerned was satisfied with my detailed explanation, which saved my astrologer friend the embarrassment of being charged with breach of trust. He then asked: “When do I get out of this shit?” “The situation may begin to ease out soon, most likely beginning October 12, when sub-sub period of Venus begins. For, Venus being lord of 2nd (union with family) occupies the constellation owned by Mercury in the 11th house identified with fulfilment of desires.
It was later revealed that his wife and mother could not digest his relationship with a lady colleague. Later his love mate was murdered. And his wife had been arrested on the charge of having conspired the brutal murder of that woman.
