Fraud in PM’s housing scheme detected in Agra

Multi-story building owners, tractors, and four-wheeler owners have also been selected for the Prime Minister’s housing scheme in the district. When the Central Government again issued an order to investigate the beneficiaries, then this fraud came to the light.

The investigation teams have found 1952 beneficiaries in the district who are ineligible. The Center has launched the Prime Minister’s housing scheme to provide housing to the homeless.

Under this scheme, in the urban area, 2.5 lakh rupees are granted for house construction and Rs 1.2 lakh in the village along with Rs 12000 for the construction of toilets and 100 days MGNREGA wages.

The government had selected the beneficiaries according to the 2011 Economic and Social Census.

There were many people whose names were not on this list. Two years ago, the central government conducted a re-survey in the district.

Block-level teams surveyed homeless people across the district, in which 6737 needy were found.

The district administration stamped their names and sent the list to the state government from where it was finally sent to the center and the Central Government published the list of all the beneficiaries on the housing portal. Recently, the government received some complaints about the selection of ineligible beneficiaries.

Housing commissioner orders to investigate all the beneficiaries. On the instructions of DM, CDO formed 12 teams of district level officers to investigate beneficiaries. these teams visited door to door to inspect the beneficiaries and found some shocking truth. In the villages, multi-story building owners, cars, and even tractor owners are found in the list of recipients.

CDO Anunya Jha told that a survey has been conducted in all the blocks by different investigating officers and a total of 1952 beneficiaries are found ineligible. All these names are being removed from the housing portal.

Investigating officials submitted their report to CDO and according to these reports, the names of the ineligible recipients are being removed from the housing portal. 1952 people have been found ineligible in the district. this includes 271 in Akbarabad block, 81 in Atrauli, 327 in Bijauli, 84 in Chandaus, 380 in Dhanipur, 258 in Gangiri, 56 in Gonda, 106 in Iglas, 125 in Jawan, 151 in Khair, 83 in Lodha, and 29 in Tappal.
