A joint team of security forces have arrested three Lashkar-e- Tayyeba (LeT) terrorists from the forest area of Gurdan in Rajouri. These three terrorists were spotted in the area by the security personnel during a cordon and search operations.
Director General of Police, Dilbagh Singh while sharing details of the operation told reporters on saturday, “Rajouri Police along with Army’s 38 RR had launched a cordon and search operation in the general area of Gurdan where three suspected persons carrying a bag each were spotted”.
Dilbagh Singh said, “The trio attempted to flee after throwing a grenade on the search party but the grenade did not explode and the brave personnel of police and army managed to nab all of them along with huge cache of arms/ammunition which were dropped by drone from Pakistan”.
He said the arrested terrorists have been identified and all hail from South Kashmir. The DGP said that drones are being used by the Pakistani agencies and its sponsored terror outfits to supply arms/ammunition and drugs inside our territory.
The DGP said that few days back Poonch police along with army arrested two terrorist operatives and seized arms & ammunition from them.
He also said that Rajouri Police with the assistance of Poonch police busted a narco-terrorism module by recovering 11Kg of heroin during the past few days. “
This is a huge catch cost of which runs into crores of rupees and the sale proceeds of this were to be used by Hizbul Mujahideen outfit to finance terrorist activities in J&K”,DGP added.
