Dr Ajay also thanked his team, which includes 200 IVF specialists, more than 135 embryologist and staffs more than 2,000. “It is the collective effort of all of us, we should celebrate it together,” said he.

It is equipped with updated technology and state-of-the-art infrastructure, which caters for a host of infertility treatments like IVF (In vitro fertilization), Laser Assisted Hatching, Cryopreservation, ICSI, IUI, Blastocyst culture and transfer, Laparoscopy, Hysteroscopy including donor programs. It is armed with the state-of-the-art infrastructure, advanced equipment and a pool of renowned physicians.

How well is Indian market treating the IVF treatment? Dr Ajay says, “Fertility or IVF treatment in India has undergone a sea of change since the first baby was born by this technology in India back in 1986. Even after almost 42 years after the world’s first test tube i. e Louise Brown born by IVF technique still the accessibility, affordability for acquiring IVF treatment still remains an issue to address. Almost 1 in every 8 couple have infertility issue. Changing lifestyle & Co morbidities associated with it other than medical conditions has increased the incidence in infertility. Despite this the percentage of infertile couple seeking the treatment is very low. Fertility clinics in India still have to penetrate the 2 tier & 3 tiers cities let alone the Metro cities properly. Affordability & lack of awareness about the available treatment options for infertility is a major cause for couple seeking IVF by treatment. While in rural areas infertility is still considered a social stigma other than conservative & religious concerns.”

How did he come up with the idea of opening a fertility centre? “Amidst social taboos, male dominance and stigmatisation, there was a time in the year 1988, when people were concerned about anything but women and infertility. All who were blamed for the misfortune and infertility were women regardless of the reality of both can equally be the reason of the same and always punished the women by remarrying, isolating and even considering them ill-fated. A time when everything was biased, I let go of the perks of a comfortable government job and unlike any other man of that time, named my two room clinic after my wife Indira,” said Dr Ajay.

The group works on four pillars:

The group has been working to bring down the cost of IVF treatment for the masses. The cost of IVF cycle has been brought down significantly. It has made the treatment affordable for various sections of the society.

Awareness

The group has been actively spreading awareness using scientific methods to deal with infertility. Under the banner Nisantanta Bharat Chodo, they have organised many infertility checkups and free awareness camps throughout the nation.

Assurance

To provide advanced fertility set up across India, they have established many IVF centres throughout the nation. With an aim to make infertility treatment available, it plans to provide its services within walking distance from their home.

Accessibility
