The latest show, Aarya, directed by Ram Madhvani, has successfully managed to rule the hearts of the entire nation. Actor Salman Khan took to social media to praise the Sushmita Sen-starrer web series. He calls her Dabangg. Recently, popular television actors like Divyanka Tripathi, Mohsin Khan, Hina Khan and Prince Narula also participated in the #Aaryadialoguebaazi challenge.
The Hotstar Specials’ web series is an adaptation of Dutch drama Penoza, which revolves around Aarya Sareen (played by Sushmita Sen), who takes it upon herself to get to the bottom of the truth and bring the culprit to justice after her husband Tej Sareen (played by Chandrachur Singh) is murdered by a masked man. But everyone in the series has secrets of their own. Aarya is reluctant to be involved in the illegal narcotics family business. But her life suddenly turns upside down as her family is being threatened. In the quest to protect them, she is forced to become the very person she always avoided. She realises that to protect her family from criminals, she herself needs to become one. The series explores a few questions — Who has murdered her husband and why? How far will Aarya go to survive and protect her family?
Praising the show in the clip, Salman said, “What can be more fun than classic filmy dialogue-baazi and a show like Aarya has got some amazing lines to throw around. Seeing Sushmita lead the series fills my heart with such joy, she has been such an amazing on-screen partner and is a gem of a human being outside of work too.” He added, “Ek baar jo maine pehla episode dekh lia uske baad saare episodes dekhe bina mai nahi uthta!” The line renders a quirky twist to his popular Wanted dialogue: Ek baar jo maine commitment kar di, toh phir main khudki bhi nahi sunta.
The star captioned the video, which currently has over 1.4 million views on the photo-sharing website: “Swagat toh karo Aarya ka! What a comeback and what a show! Congratulations Sushmita Sen aur dher saara pyaar.”
Actors Sushmita Sen and Chandrachur Singh returned to the screen after a long hiatus. The show also features actors Namit Das, Sikandar Kher, Jayant Kripalani, Sohaila Kapoor, Sugandha Garg, Maya Sareen, Vishwajeet Pradhan and Manish Chaudhary in pivotal roles.
