‘Film on corrupt practices of B’wood’

Actor Abhay Deol has taken a dig at Bollywood, saying “one could make a film about the corrupt practices” prevailing in the film industry.

Abhay penned his thoughts on Instagram while recalling the shoot of his 2012 release, Shanghai, which revolves around the issue of corruption in politics.

“Shanghai, released in 2012. Directed by Dibakar Banerji, this film puts systemic corruption in politics front and center, with devastating impact. Extremely relevant today. Looks like these days one could make a film about the corrupt practices of Bollywood,” he wrote.

‘My heart goes out to each person in the theatre industry who is going through these tough times. Our community has always been close-knit and we need all the support we can get. I am more than happy to do my bit for the people who have made me everything I am today. It is important that people unite to support the foundations of the theatre community.’

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana says he is a huge fan of Aamir Khan’s work and that he learnt something from him even before he stepped into Bollywood.

He shared that he purposely didn't see the original version of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan because of the lesson he received from Aamir.

“I was an MTV presenter and I remember I was interviewing him for Ghajini. I asked him this question, ‘How is the film different from the original?' He said, ‘I've not seen the original'. I was really fascinated. So I found that to be a great lesson,” said Ayushmann.

‘Couldn’t get Rachel off my back’

Actor Jennifer Aniston says her iconic role of Rachel Green in Friends left her feeling typecast in Hollywood, which she couldn’t escape.

Aniston opened up about how difficult it was to “shed” her role, which she played for 10 seasons on Friends.

She said that things changed when she got the leading role in the 2002 film The Good Girl.

“The Good Girl was the first time I got to really shed whatever the Rachel character was, and to be able to disappear into someone who wasn't. That was such a relief to me. But I remember the panic that set over me, thinking — oh god! I don't know if I can do this. Maybe they're right,” she recalled.
