Believe in institution of marriage: Rakul

Actor Rakul Preet Singh believes in love and the institution of marriage and says that she doesn’t understand how people think of it as “some sort of pressure.”

“I have changed as a person. What I was isn’t what I am, and for me the meaning of love is what I see in my parents. I totally believe in the institution of marriage and love. I think it is beautiful. When you love someone, you love them with all your heart and that’s the kind of person I am,” said she.

She also stated the qualities that she looks out for in a guy. “The guy has to be tall. Even in heels, I should still be able to look up to my man. He should have an intellect, and lastly some purpose in life,” added she.

‘It’s really sad for me, a personal tragedy. I was a huge fan of Jagdeep ji. He had worked in my father’s film Hum Panchhi Ek Daal Ke. When I directed my first film Ghayal, he played a part but the track had to be removed due to  the film's length. I’d always think of him while casting for films.’

Actor Aditi Rao Hydari revealed how she turned down a fairness cream ad in the start of her career.

She said, “Our generation of celebrities has stood up for a world that is more inclusive. At the beginning of my career, I got an offer to be a part of a fairness cream ad campaign that could have given me a great deal of visibility, followed by entries into the film business. But I didn’t take the opportunity. I come from a family where I was taught to look at an individual beyond caste, region, colour, religion or even appearance. I can’t stand by and endorse an idea of beauty that is discriminatory.”

‘Important to show women in a team’

Actor Naomi Scott says it is important to show women on screen coming together and working as a team.

“I think it’s important to see women on screen, coming together, as a team, solving problems and being the ones that make a difference because that is what women do every day,” Scott said.

That’s what made the recent version of Charlie’s Angels with fresh perspective important to her. Scott starred in the Elizabeth Banks directorial along with Kristen Stewart and Ella Balinska.
