France aims for 7,00,000 tests each week in May

Wednesday, 29 April 2020 | AP | PARIS

French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe has outlined a plan to fight the coronavirus by testing everyone who has come in contact with an infected person.

Philippe announced the plan while addressing lawmakers at the National Assembly. He said when a person tests positive, individuals that have been close contact with that person — regardless of whether they have any symptoms or not — will be tested. Philippe said, “All these contact cases will be tested and will be asked to isolate themselves.”
