Scholarship test for engineers

The CareerLabs has announced CareerLabs Assured Placement Program (CLAAP) for engineering graduates of 2020 and 2021. This programme is launched with the aim to provide high quality placements for students by upskilling them on latest validated skills from industry in the areas of Embedded Systems, Data sciences, IOT, Full Stack Development, UI and UX Design.

The CLAPP is one of its kind and a unique platform for all budding engineers to polish their skills and develop new ones to be future ready. In order to provide equal opportunity for all, CareerLabs is enabling scholarships for placement assured programmes in numerous acclaimed colleges covering 20,000 students through  a test — C.L.E.A.R.

The test which will be based on their aptitude and foundational engineering knowledge. On clearing the test, up to 1,000 students will be awarded with scholarships worth Rs 2 crore.

Each student who clears the exam will be awarded a scholarship value of up to Rs 25,000. All engineering graduates and students in final year of engineering will be eligible for taking the test which will be conducted free of cost.

Online summer programme

The British Council has announced the 11th edition of its summer school programme that helps parents to give their children the confidence and tools to succeed in an evolving world.

The edition has been reimagined in view of the evolving curriculum in schools as well as the present COVID-19 scenario.

Fully online, the programme has been designed to enable participants improve core communication skills while discovering their style and talents.

It is a theme-based programme that that excites children to learn rather than spend complete hours in front of a screen. The education system and the school curriculum is undergoing change

The theme — #Crafting Futures-The Fun has been designed for children of age 5-17 years, segregated in age groups of 5-6 years, 7-12 years and 13-17 years to ensure age appropriate learning.

Dates: Crafting Futures Batch 3: May 24-June 4.

Fee: Rs 5,000 for 2 themes.

Voice-based solutions for MPFI

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras researchers will collaborate with members of the Mobile Payment Forum of India (MPFI) to develop voice-based solutions, especially in multiple vernacular languages for digital money transactions in the country. This will provide a phenomenal platform not only for the increased adoption of digital payments in India but for research opportunities as well.

These initiatives are being taken up by MPFI towards bringing 500 million active users on to the UPI payment platforms by 2025.

The MPFI is working to identify innovation across three levels; Human behaviour and adoption, Technology (design and safeguards), and policy (a data-centric view), to propel India over the next decade.

Dr. Gaurav Raina, Faculty, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Madras, and Chairman, MPFI, said: “Digital and mobile payments, and in particular contactless payments, are important not just from an efficiency point of view, but also to mitigate risk against COVID-19. It provides a great opportunity to help yourself and also the ecosystem.”

Two programmes for executives

The Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Deemed to be University invites applications for PGDM (Executive) in Business Analytics and PGDM (Executive) in General Management, at Center for Executive Education, Tarnaka campus in Hyderabad.

Designed for working executives, these programmes follow flexible timetables with classes held over the weekends. The PGDM (Executive) in Business Analytics is a 16-month weekend programme, while PGDM (Executive) in General Management is a 20-month weekend programme.

Ramesh Bhat, VC, NMIMS, said: “In a rapidly-changing work environment, every professional needs cognitive, digital, and practical skills that define a modern manager. A management education program that equips students with the necessary technical and strategic skill sets, along with a collaborative approach, will become necessary with businesses transitioning to Industry 4.0.”

Virtual workshop for budding entrepreneurs

The Sanskriti University in collaboration with Sleepwell Foundation and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) led an initiative for the young generation to motivate them to start a business and become a successful Entrepreneur.

This Workshop will be conducted for three days online will discuss the topics for giving a better understanding about the concepts of business. The workshop is being conducted by trainers of MacLead Certification along with the domain experts and all the leading entrepreneurs sharing real-life experiences and provide help to the students and budding entrepreneurs by answering their queries and clearing doubts.

The workshop organised for the students will help them to recognise their inner potential and start their own business without any hesitation.
